Concerning the withdrawal of a song "as stated on page 115 of the Reminiscences, adding that Mendelssohn "quite misunderstood Mr. Bartholomew," that Bartholomew wrote to Mendelssohn saying that "the resemblance is only in the first two or three bars," and asking Duncan's editor, if he has no objections, to allude to the book.
